You only need 4 ingredients and about 15 minutes for this Champagne White Chocolate Fondue recipe! The easy dessert is perfect for a holiday party, a New Year's Eve gathering, or a romantic Valentine's Day date. Make it on the stovetop or in the Crock Pot!

If you're hosting a party with friends, going to a potluck, or just having a low-key evening at home, this dip is for you!

Any special occasion deserves a sweet treat with a little bit of bubbly added into the mix, and my white chocolate fondue recipe is no exception! Plus, it couldn't be easier (you know I'm not into complicated recipes, right?!)...

    How to Make Chocolate Fondue:

There's really no "cooking" involved. You just melt the chocolate (along with a couple of other ingredients) in a pot and serve it with any delicious dippers that you love.

I've included instructions below for stovetop, fondue pot, and Crock Pot methods!

What's the best chocolate for fondue?

Since the entire dish is based on chocolate, you want to choose the highest quality chocolate that you can find. Try Ghirardelli chocolate chips and Baker's Premium White Chocolate Baking Squares. The best chocolate yields the best tasting fondue!

This is obviously a white chocolate fondue, but you can use milk chocolate or dark chocolate instead!

What foods are good for fondue?

Wondering what goes with this fondue? I have tons of ideas, so here are a few of our favorite dippers:

    • Frozen pound cake (just thaw on the counter), dice into cubes, and pile high on a platter.
    • Fruit, including: strawberries, raspberries, pineapple chunks, blackberries, bananas, apples and mangoes.
    • Cookies and other sweets, including: sugar cookies, shortbread cookies, and gingerbread cookies; large marshmallows, graham crackers, Rice Krispies treats, and brownie squares.
    • Salty, crunchy dippers such as pretzels, pretzel crisps, and crackers.

How to Make Chocolate Fondue in a Crock Pot:

This recipe is for Crock Pot chocolate fondue, as well as for a classic stovetop or fondue pot version. I'm not fancy, though -- I'm not suggesting that you try a Chocolate Fondue Fountain!

To make the entire batch in a slow cooker, simply add all of the ingredients to your Crock Pot and cook on LOW for about 45 minutes - 1 hour (or until the chocolate is melted), stirring occasionally. You can keep it warm in the Crock Pot for another 1-2 hours.

    Is this Fondue gluten-free?

Yes, the fondue itself is gluten-free if you confirm that your particular brands of ingredients are certified gluten-free. Be sure that you're choosing gluten-free dippers as well!

Can I make Fondue ahead of time?

You can prepare this white chocolate fondue about 1-2 hours in advance of your party and then just keep it "warm" in a slow cooker until your guests are ready to enjoy.

    Can Chocolate Fondue be reheated?

Yes, you can keep any leftover fondue in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Reheat in the microwave in 15-second intervals (stirring each time), until completely melted.

    How much fondue per person?

If you're planning a party, it can be helpful to estimate how much fondue you'll need for each guest. A good rule of thumb is about ¼ cup per person.

This recipe yields about 1 ⅓ cups of fondue, or enough for about 5+ people. If you're hosting a larger group, you'll obviously want to double, triple, or quadruple the recipe.

    How to thicken fondue:

If you want to thicken the fondue, simply add more chocolate to the pot, or allow the fondue to cool slightly (it will thicken a bit as it sits).

    How to thin fondue:

If you prefer a thinner consistency, add more cream, 1 tablespoon at a time.

    COOK'S TIPS AND RECIPE VARIATIONS:

    • Substitute dark (or semi-sweet chocolate chips) and dark chocolate baking squares for the white chocolate.
    • Want an alcohol-free version? Replace the champagne with an equal amount of additional heavy cream.
    • For a quick option that doesn't require the stovetop, Crock Pot or fondue pot, try melting your fondue in 30-second intervals in the microwave!
