With the start of the New Year, many of us are busy setting goals and working hard to achieve them. How are your resolutions going so far? If you’ve already lost some steam or if you have fallen off of the wagon, don’t worry – I’m here today with some simple, fast, and effective tips to help you achieve small victories each morning. And as we know, little wins each day have significant impacts later on. That’s why I’m sharing My Time-Saving Healthy Morning Routine with you today (plus a Total Body Workout) to help you feel your best, achieve your goals for 2015, and regain that momentum that we all love!
One of my personal goals for the New Year is to maintain my happy, healthy routine – which always starts in the morning. By getting up a little bit earlier than my kids, I am able to start the day with a quick workout in my living room (usually about 10-15 minutes in length), a healthy breakfast, and some “me time” to get myself organized and centered before the chaos descends! Once the kids are awake, we’re rushing out the door to preschool, errands, work, and other commitments. I need my morning routine to keep me calm, energized, and focused throughout the rest of my day.
So what, exactly, are some of my tools for streamlining my mornings and keeping them healthy? The key is preparation! I keep a well-stocked kitchen, a well-stocked wardrobe, and a well-stocked arsenal of short, fun, and effective workouts. Each of these components supports my healthy habits and saves me a lot of time each morning.
For example, one day last week while the older two boys were in preschool for the morning, Spencer and I headed out on a weekly shopping trip. Of course, we visited my favorite store (Target!), which you have heard me rave about for years. When I’m shopping with this little guy, I better be efficient! He’s not particularly interested in sitting in a cart for very long, so one-stop-shops are the only way to go.
And that’s where Target comes in! In just a few minutes, I was able to grab some nutritious breakfast items for my kitchen, some new hand weights to add to my home gym, and even a new outfit.
In the back of the store there was a seasonal section called “New Year/New You,” where there were a few short aisles dedicated to healthy living products.
And guess what I found? In the middle of the aisle we grabbed these BelVita Bites – Mini Breakfast Biscuits in two different flavors (Chocolate and Mixed Berry), plus a bottle of V8 Veggie Blends in the Golden Goodness flavor. Instantly I had nutritious and satisfying breakfast options to power me through my crazy mornings!
On our way back towards the front of the store, I grabbed these 6-lb. hand weights, this C9 Champion yoga top, and these C9 Champion pants.
I have quite a few similar C9 outfits like this in my closet because they are another great time-saving strategy. I can put the clothes on when I get out of bed in the morning, wear them while I exercise, and then leave them on while I go about the rest of my day. Yes, they’re comfortable for workouts, but they also look nice enough to transition to the “real world” – no grungy sweats allowed! It means less laundry and less outfit changes, all of which makes me happy in the morning.
Thanks to Target, I save time since I can get all of my healthy necessities in one spot, and I have a house full of items that help set me up for success each day.
These BelVita Bites are an easy, grab-and-go breakfast option that are packed with whole grain, fiber, and protein!
Paired with the V8 Veggie Blends, I know that I’m getting a well-balanced start to my day. The beverages are delicious blends of vegetables with a touch of fruit, giving me a full serving of vegetables in every 8 ounce glass! Each 8oz. serving is 60 calories or less with no sugar added and no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Plus, the V8 Veggie Blends are excellent sources of antioxidant vitamins A, C, and E. The Golden Goodness flavor that I picked up last week contains the juices of Yellow Carrots, Sweet Potatoes, Orange Carrots, and Orange. So good! Other available varieties include Carrot Mango, Purple Power, and Healthy Greens.
With a properly fueled body, I’m ready to tackle some quick, energizing exercise like this Time-Saving Total Body Workout. This fun, fast, and effective routine can be done just about anywhere, and all you need is a set of hand weights. Combine it with your New Breakfast Routine for yet another little morning victory!
If you’re ready to give these products a try for yourself, be sure to visit your local Target on January 24, 2015 for an in-store sampling event. And while you’re there, be sure to take advantage of these current Cartwheel offers for BelVita here (offer available now through 1/31/15), and for V8 here (offer starts on 2/23/15) and here (offer starts on 1/25/15).
Happy shopping, and enjoy your new morning routine, too!
I like that post, love your outfit, great ideas for a good work out too! And the best thing – the cutie little boy! I will look forward to the 24th for the Target sample day, too. I need some weight gloves, I’ll look for those. Thanks Blair.
