May is a month for celebrations! Between Mother’s Day, graduations, birthdays (Casey’s is in the middle of the month), prom, and Memorial Day, there are plenty of reasons to party and spend time with loved ones…so on a recent weekend, that’s exactly what we did!

Keith with Boys

We had an (unusually) free Sunday, and it happened to be rainy. That meant that it was the perfect opportunity to spend some family time together indoors — celebrating all of our exciting May events — Mother’s Day, Casey’s birthday, preschool graduation, and the end of Kindergarten!

We returned to Red Lobster, which has recently become one of our favorite spots for both date nights and family meals. It’s SO kid-friendly — especially when we go at lunchtime before my crew gets tired!

While our waitress grabbed our drinks, Keith entertained Spence with some coloring (love that the kids each get their own set of crayons)!

A fish masterpiece.

After placing our order, I took the boys to the front of the restaurant to check out the lobster tank.

It was almost like visiting the aquarium! ? By the way, Gibbs and Spence wanted NOTHING to do with this lobster (I can’t blame them)…

but Casey agreed to “pet” it!

By the time we returned to our table, there were two big baskets of the famous Cheddar Bay Biscuits waiting for us…

Biscuits

hot, fresh, flakey, and buttery — just waiting to be devoured! In fact, Gibbs polished off two of them before his meal arrived (and before I could snap a pic)!

I ordered a large Caesar salad with grilled shrimp on top (it was amazing),

Keith started with a small Caesar salad and had the Fish n’ Chips for lunch (also delicious),

and the kids ordered one of their favorites — Chicken Tenders!

Even though there was hardly a crumb left on anyone’s plate at the end of the meal, we KNEW we wanted dessert. After all, any celebratory lunch MUST include sweet treats!

Whoa, you guys!! These were some of the best desserts we’ve had in ages. Seriously.

Dessert

We ordered a slice of the Chocolate Cake (with ice cream and fudge sauce, naturally) and a slice of the Key Lime Pie. It might be hard to tell here, but these portions were VERY large and one plate could have easily fed all of us. But, Gibbs and I had our hearts set on the cake, so we shared that…

while Keith and Casey really wanted the Key Lime Pie.

Pie

Again, there wasn’t much left on the plates when we were done…but that didn’t stop Casey from literally trying to lick up every last morsel! Hah! I love that I captured this photo without him realizing that I was watching. Keith looked away at Spencer for half a second, which meant Casey dove in face-first! I promise — my children have table manners (but all bets are off when it comes to plates of cake or pie)! ? Let’s just say that’s the sign of a truly delicious dessert!

It was such a fun way to spend some time together during this busy and festive season. We are so fortunate to have these #lobsterworthy moments to celebrate!

A very full heart and tummy for this Mamma!
