It isn’t all holding-hands and singing kumbaya around here. In fact, since the day Casey was born, I have often felt as though my part-time job is Household Referee. I break up a lot of little squabbles, especially because Little Brother wants to have exactly the same thing that Big Brother has ALL OF THE TIME. Whether it’s shoes, trucks, food, beverage, you get the point. Let’s just say that Gibbs often loses patience with all of it.

Boys on Tractor

Wheee!!! Gibbs on the gas while Casey “steers.” They may have run into a tree, shed, fence…

However, when they figure out how to have fun together, life with a brother sure is fun!

Maybe it’s because of the stress of the past 18 months, or maybe all parents with multiple children feel this way, but I cannot express how it warms my heart when I see my two boys genuinely enjoying each other’s company and becoming friends. As they both get older, there are more and more of these moments. And it sure is sweet!
