Good morning, and happy Sunday! We welcomed February with warm sunshine and a handful of comfort food classics. Youโ€™ll find all of the highlights from the past few days, along with each of our dinners, in todayโ€™s roundup ofย Our Week in Meals.

For those of you who are new to the blog, Our Week in Meals is where I share a little bit about what weโ€™ve been up to over the past week โ€” as it relates to our dinners each night. This series gives you a glimpse โ€œbehind the scenesโ€ at some highlights from our life, shows you how I balance a busy schedule with feeding my family, and offers a few new ideas for your own weekly meal plan.

Now, letโ€™s back up to last weekendโ€ฆ

We went to church on Sunday, headed to Charlottesville for Spencer’s indoor soccer game afterwards, and had lunch with friends at Chipotle.

Adria came over for a late afternoon walk, we watched the NFL football games that evening, and I served slow cooker buffalo chicken sliders for supper. On the side, we rounded out the meal with frozen onion rings and carrot sticks, celery sticks, and cucumbers with ranch dip. Perfect Game Day munchies…

Book time! This week, since Valentine’s Day and football playoffs are on the brain, I have to share The Rule Book by Sarah Adams. I loved this sweet romantic comedy about a pro football player who reunites with his college girlfriend under some very complicated circumstances. Such a fun one!

The boys returned to school on Monday morning, Keith and I took the dog for a walk, and I tackled multiple loads of laundry while also catching up on computer work.

Brought an apple to our neighbor Chip!

We finally saw some warmer temps this week, so the last of the January snow and ice finally melted.

Spencer requested “breakfast for dinner,” so that’s what we did: baked pancakes with pancake mix, hash browns, maple breakfast sausage, and fresh fruit.

I took advantage of the 50-degree weather on Tuesday and got outside for a golf lesson for the first time in weeks.

My parents came over for supper that evening, so I made a double batch of my mom’s recipe for the easiest chicken pot pie, which we paired with a house salad and warm baguette. Plus boxed mix brownies for dessert!

Ashley and I walked our dogs together on Wednesday morning,

and then I made my weekly stop at Yoder’s. I picked up the usual deli meats and cheeses, buttermilk, and peanut butter, plus some treats that the kids requested like fudge, whoopie pies, and cherry fried pies. I also grabbed some fig bars, which were delish, and a bar of gardenia-scented soap. You just never know what you’ll come home with from that shop!

We had hamburger steak with mushroom gravy and red-skin mashed potatoes for supper, along with another salad for something green.

Teddy and I met Mollie for a walk on Thursday morning, and I took Spencer and Casey to their golf lessons that afternoon.

We had million dollar baked spaghetti for dinner after golf, along with garlic roasted broccoli and garlic bread.

Friday was a nasty, rainy day, so I was glad to have an indoor outing that morning…

…Pilates class and coffee with Ashley. Brown sugar shaken espresso!

Gibbs went to golf that evening, and then we all sat down to a very easy supper that came together in minutes: sheet pan New Orleans bbq shrimp, which I paired with rice, steamed green beans, corn, and coleslaw that I picked up a Yoder’s.

And that brings us to the weekend!

On a warm, spring-like Saturday morning, I headed over to Mollie’s farm for a walk and visit while Keith and the boys did yard chores and worked out.

The boys got haircuts after lunch, and then Keith and I had a date night in Culpeper.

We tried a new taqueria called Zandra’s which was awesome! The lighting was blue and red (hence the weird-looking purple photo), but we loved our tacos, Mexican Caesar salad, and chips and salsa. I especially appreciated the creative menu.

So there you have it, friends — another week of easy winter meals. I hope that you’ve found something new to add to your own table in the days ahead. Thank you for being here, and have a wonderful Sunday!

How far is Yoders off of 81? Would love to stop there on our way North! You make it sound like a fun place to shop!

Hi, LD! It’s a bit of a drive off of 81, since you have to come over the mountains. We’re about 1 hour or so from Harrisonburg.
