Mother Nature blessed Central Virginia with some beautiful fall weather this weekend. Even though Casey was not feeling 100% due to the cold that he picked up from Gibbs’s school, we managed to sneak in a few fun activities to enjoy the cooler temperatures and the blue skies.
About 10 minutes down the road from our house at Fairfield View Dairy Farm, the Somerset Steam and Gas Engine Association hosted their 37th Annual “Pasture Party” from Friday through Sunday.
The festivities included antique tractors, steam and gas engines, live music, arts and crafts, threshing demonstrations, food, and much more. This little guy was so thrilled with the outing that he didn’t even know where to look first!
We saw old steam engines driving around the farm,
as well as rows and rows of antique tractors.
The kids checked out some classic cars and trucks,
and even a John Deere bicycle (who knew?).
We taste-tested some homemade donuts,
and watched homemade ice cream being churned by a tractor engine!
Once we returned home and refueled with some lunch, the boys were ready to head outside again for some football. After all, the Redskins are playing this afternoon and Dad is hoping for a better result than last week!
The kids have been working on their three-point stance ever since Uncle Spencer sent them these helmets last year for Christmas.
I’m just glad that the tackling happened outside this afternoon, rather than in my living room. Thank goodness for a beautiful weekend!
Happy Fall!
I truly think this website needs much more consideration. Ill probably be again to read much more
