These Chicken Bites Make Perfect Party Food!

With football season in full swing, my husband and the three boys are very happy campers. There’s something to watch on TV almost every night, there’s an excuse to get together with friends and drink beers each week, and there’s something fun to cheer for every weekend.

Oh, and let’s not forget those competitive Fantasy Football leagues that keep Keith on the edge of his seat every single Sunday!

In honor of the tailgate parties that we’re enjoying this season, I’m so excited to partner with our very favorite brand of barbecue sauce (which you’ve undoubtedly seen me use on the blog in the past), to bring you a tasty, easy, and crowd-pleasing recipe for Bacon Wrapped Chicken Bites.

Let me tell you — these little nuggets won RAVE reviews from the fans around here! In fact, after I made them the first time, Keith requested them for dinner again the very next night!

Choosing The Best BBQ Sauce!

Of course, the key ingredient in these zesty, flavorful bacon wrapped chicken bites is the Stubb’s Original Bar-B-Q Sauce that I slather on top.

This stuff has been a pantry staple in our house for years, and it’s Keith’s go-to sauce any time he’s grilling or smoking meat. From Sticky Sweet to Spicy, Honey Pecan to Smokey Mesquite, there are plenty of flavors to choose from — and any of them will work well in this recipe.

We’ve tried almost all of the different varieties, but the Original Bar-B-Q sauce remains our personal favorite. It’s the “real deal,” and it tastes remarkably homemade.

The tangy blend of tomato, vinegar, molasses, and pepper just work beautifully together for the perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and smoky! Best of all, thanks to a little bit of help from the bottle of barbecue sauce, these Bacon Wrapped Chicken Bites come together with just a few minutes of prep!

How To Make Bacon Wrapped Chicken Bites

You’ll start by dicing boneless, skinless chicken breast tenders into bite-sized pieces.

Wrap each piece of chicken with half of a slice of bacon, and secure the bacon with a toothpick.

You can either bake the chicken in the oven or put it on the grill — whatever is easiest for you. We’ve tried it both ways and they’re delicious every time…

Just as the bacon starts to get crispy during the final few minutes of cooking, it’s time to slather on plenty of Stubb’s barbecue sauce!

The chicken and the bacon cook in exactly the same amount of time, so the end result is a little package of crispy, sweet, and smokey bacon wrapped around tender, juicy meat. The bites are perfectly “poppable” and the ideal companion for a cold beer!

  1. Would this work well without the bbq sauce. Was thinking Thanksgiving and there will be enough carbs with everything else. Would I have to flavor the ck with something else or do you think the bacon would do the trick.

    1. Yes — this would totally work without the BBQ sauce! Just season the chicken well with salt and pepper (or any other seasoning that you like) and prepare as instructed, but omitting the sauce. Enjoy!

There were a hit at our Friendsgiving as a appetizer. We did them on the grill as the oven was full. Lots of compliments and we did use the recommended Stubbs Sauce.
