You know that we love celebrating the seasons around here, so today I have some fun new products and recipes to share with you – just in time for Christmas!

There are a few holiday flavors and colors that are perfect for baking at this time of year, including M&M’s White Chocolate Peppermint (ONLY available at Target); M&M’s Holiday Dark Mint (OMG – definitely my personal favorite!!!); and M&M’s Holiday Baking Mini’s (which are so cute and perfect for little Christmas goodies, as you’ll see very soon).
Shortly after tossing a bag of each into my cart, we rounded the corner and found these shelves full of Glad Holiday products. I knew that they would be ideal for storing and transporting all of the baked goods that I will be carting to my cookie swap and delivering to friends and family.
These Glad containers are affordable, they come in a variety shapes and sizes, and they are decorated with exclusive holiday prints. Fun!
P.S. – these special holiday designs are ONLY available at Target, too! As though you needed another excuse to visit my favorite store…
My shopping companion thought that they were quite tasty…
Here’s the loot that I brought home with us on this particular day!
And while Spencer took an overdue nap that morning, I got to work in the kitchen. I baked up two different types of holiday cookies using the M&M’s Holiday Baking Mini’s…while snacking on the M&M’s Holiday Dark Mint candies, which were staring me in the face and begging to be consumed!
I started with a recipe straight from the back of the Glad storage container.
At this point, we have firmly established that (a) I love the combination of chocolate and peppermint; and (b) I love recipes that are simple and take advantage of short-cuts (i.e., cake mix cookies!). These M&M’s Chocolate Espresso Peppermint Bites meet all of my criteria for fun and delicious holiday baking!
We enjoyed a few of the cookies after lunch when the older kids were home from school (big hit and many bonus points for Mom!).
And then I packed up the extras in a few of my Glad storage containers and stuck them in my freezer.
Now I have some homemade cookies that I can pull out in a week or two when I need a quick gift for a friend or party!
With the first batch of cookies stowed away for safekeeping, I moved on to my next treat. This is a recipe that was sent to me from my dear Aunt Bee {remember my super-cool 94 year-old fairy Godmother?!}. Well this is a twist on one of her retro recipes that she has been making for her family for years! Instead of using the mini cinnamon candies that she originally suggested, I used the red M&M Holiday Baking Minis. Isn’t chocolate always better than a cinnamon candy?!?!
These No-Bake Christmas Wreath Cookies come together in literally 10 minutes! They are SO EASY! The key is just to make sure that your hands are sprayed with nonstick cooking spray before you shape each cookie. That way the sticky marshmallow-coated cereal doesn’t cling to you!
If you can melt butter on the stove, you can make these treats. Aren’t they just perfectly festive and beautiful?
There’s nothing better than a holiday cookie recipe that has been loved for generations. Better yet if it doesn’t even involve baking them in your oven! I still maintain…my Aunt Bee is a genius!
