Whether you’re on the road for travel and vacation, or staying put at home in the comfort of your air conditioning and a local pool, it’s always nice to add a little bit of sparkle and joy to the summertime fun. Here’s what we’re loving right now; and of course, I’d love it if you’d share some of your current summer shopping favorites in the comments below!

My Summer Shopping Favorites

Beauty Products

1. Jones Road Beauty: The Bronzer

I do my best to stay out of the sun, but we all love a little bit of a golden glow at this time of year. I’m really enjoying the Jones Road Beauty products that I’ve tried so far (Bobbi Brown’s newest line) — including this bronzer. It goes on smoothly, looks natural, and lasts all day. I have the “Tan” shade, but there are 7 different options to choose from — and a handy “Find My Shade” tool that will help you discover your perfect match. Don’t forget the bronzer brush for the best application!

2. Jones Road Beauty: The Lip Tint and Cool Gloss.

Just the right hint of color and shine for a minimal make-up look! I love the lip tint in “Nude Rose” and the cool gloss in “Mocha Shimmer” right now. They pair nicely with a little bronzed summer glow!

3. Revision Skincare Intellishade Matte Tinted Moisturizer and Sunscreen

I have my sister-in-law to thank for this recommendation. We’ve both been using it for years, along with most of her friends and family in Florida. This truly does it all — acting as a moisturizer, providing subtle coverage with its “intellishade” tint that adapts to match your skin tone, and SPF 45 protection. It feels just like a light moisturizer (not a heavy foundation), and it doesn’t sting my eyes. A year-round must-have, but especially in the summer!

4. NYX Fat Oil Lip Gloss

An impulse purchase that has been a very pleasant surprise! I have the “Follow Back” shade, which provides a subtle hint of bronze shine for summer. You can’t beat the price, either! If you’re not looking for shine, I also love this brand’s Butter Lip Gloss, which I keep in my car and purse at all times. My favorite shades are “Praline” and “Sugar High”. Again, great bang for your buck!

5. Essie “On a Roll” Hydrating Cuticle Oil

This isn’t just for the summer months, but a year-round shopping favorite. I love to roll this onto my nails before bed at night, helping to prevent hangnails, while also conditioning my nails and cuticles. It isn’t too greasy, it’s easy to apply (thanks to the roller ball), and it has a nice, light, apricot scent.

6. Eucerin Advanced Repair Hand Cream and Foot Cream

I’ve been using this hand cream at my aunt’s recommendation for years, but I recently added the foot cream to my nightly routine as well (it is sandal season, after all!). I love that it’s unscented, absorbs quickly, and is not at all greasy. I keep the little tubes in my nightstand, in my purse, and in my car!

Clothes and Accessories

7. Summersalt Bathing Suits

We’re at the pool a lot these days, and one of my current favorite bathing suits is The Sidestroke by Summersalt. It’s supportive and it has nice coverage, but it still feels stylish. I like the swim shorts when I want a bit more coverage, and this cover-up and this cover-up (from J. Crew) are easy for coming and going.

8. Athletic Shorts

These shorts are great for walks and outdoor activities with the kids! I love the 5-inch inseam (not too short, not too long), and the pockets are an added bonus. They’re supposedly dupes for the Lululemon “Track That” shorts — at a fraction of the price!

9. Pillow Slides

Affordable recovery slides that might not be the most fashionable item I’ve ever worn, but they’re absolutely the most comfortable. They come in a zillion fun colors, and I look forward to sliding these on my feet at the end of every day!

10. Wallaroo Kristy Sun Hat

I always wear a hat when we’re out in the sun, and this is my current favorite. It’s light, comfortable, flattering, and has UPF 50 protection. I have the “Ivory/Stone” combination, but I’m eyeing other colors, too!

11. LAKE Pajamas

Summer favorites

A bit of a splurge, but these are definitely the softest, most comfortable pajamas I’ve ever owned. I have the “Short-Long Set” in Marine, but there are so many different options — from nightgowns to shorts, cropped pants, robes, loungewear, and more. They’re a great weight for this time of year, since the cotton isn’t too thick or heavy. These would be a wonderful gift for yourself, your mom, your friend…you get the idea!

12. Big Buckle Birkenstocks

If I’m not wearing my pillow slides or my Hoka running shoes, odds are good that I’ve got a pair of Birkenstocks on my feet at this time of year. This “big buckle” style in Cognac is my go-to at the moment!

13. Bombas Socks

The best socks that we’ve ever worn! Keith and I swear by these ultra-comfortable socks, which stay put, feel supportive, and hold up in the wash really well. I’ve been enjoying the performance cushioned no-show style and the ankle socks at this time of year. Bonus — the company donates a pair of socks for every pair purchased!

14. Boat and Tote Bags

The classic that will never go out of style! This summer I’ve been using my navy monogrammed medium tote to haul books, sunglasses, snacks, and the like wherever we go. I like the zippered top, which makes this bag convenient for travel, too.

Home & Kitchen Summer Shopping Favorites

15. Stanley 20-Ounce IceFlow Tumblers

I know that the giant 40-ounce tumblers have been all the rage over the past couple of years, but the smaller 20-ounce version is the boys’ latest favorite. They fit in cup holders, they’re not so big that they’re cumbersome or heavy, they have a flip-up straw, and they include a handle for easy carrying. Oh, and they’re dishwasher safe! What more could you ask for?! They go everywhere with us — from road trips to the golf course and the pool.

16. Wooded Sage Candle

This is a year-round scent that’s subtle, with a clean, cozy aroma. It’s not overpowering or off-putting, and instead just smells really beautiful. I’m hoarding these for gifts and for myself in the months ahead. The price is right, so it made my list of summer shopping favorites!

17. Rattan Flower Vase

It’s the season for fresh-cut flowers, and I’ve found that this relatively affordable Amazon vase is the perfect height and size for most of the arrangements that I pull together. It goes nicely in almost any room, with any color flower. A surprisingly useful purchase over the past couple of years!

If you’re looking for a traditional, handmade stoneware vase, the medium trunk vase from Farmhouse Pottery is another longtime favorite. Makes a great gift, too! And if you prefer summer decor that won’t die, these faux hydrangeas are really nice (I have the 12-piece set in “light blue”). Just give them a nice fluff and spread them out before arranging them.

18. Drinking Glasses

Credit: Amazon

It wouldn’t be summer without a cold drink in your hand! These can-shaped glasses are our current go-to for iced tea, iced coffee, lemonade, soda, water — you name it. As my mom said when she used one the other day, they’re just “so easy to drink out of.” Solid, but lightweight, and a good size for gripping.

19. Magic Shell

We love Dairy Queen chocolate-dipped cones, so of course my boys would adore this Magic Shell topping that they can use on ice cream sundaes at home! There are even caramel and “unicorn” flavors available, too.

20. Yasso Frozen Yogurt Bars

Speaking of cool treats, these summer shopping favorites are always stocked in our freezer for light desserts or afternoon snacks when we get home from the pool. They’re creamy and delicious, and they come in so many different flavors!

21. Route 11 Dill Pickle Potato Chips

Crunchy, salty, tangy, and flavored with dill, these Virginia-made chips are so darn good! Pair them with a PB&J sandwich for the best pool lunch! We get ours locally at Yoder’s, but you can also order this brand on Amazon, or find them in grocery stores like Walmart and Kroger.

22. Brightland Pizza Oil

It’s spicy, herby, garlicky, and delicious. Whether you’re making homemade pizzas or jazzing up delivery pizza, a drizzle of this oil adds so much great flavor. The oil is also tasty on salads, on sliced summer tomatoes, or as a dip for a crusty baguette. It would probably be nice on pasta or chicken, too!

So there you go, friends — a little glimpse at some of the summer shopping favorites that are bringing us joy right now. I’m always looking for new ideas, so let me know what you’re loving this season in the comments below!
