Hi, guys! We’ve had an absolutely gorgeous weekend, so we’ve been outside enjoying the sun a lot. I don’t have anything nearly as exciting as Egg Hunts and Easter Bunnies to report this week, but it’s been a fun couple of days nonetheless. Here are a few highlights…

Gibbs had his first soccer game of the season, so we all spent Saturday morning out on the fields.

Little brothers were there to cheer him on…

They won, Gibbs scored plenty of goals, so all was right with the world. Back home Keith got started with some yard work,

while the boys and I played outside.

Casey picked a lot of “flowers” (or weeds) to decorate our kitchen!

After a quick lunch, Spence and I headed north to Culpeper to run some errands. Meanwhile, Keith and the two older boys stayed home to finish up some work outdoors and then grabbed homemade chocolate ice cream cones at Yoder’s Country Market.

We grabbed some new shin guards for Gibbs at Dick’s Sporting Goods, stopped in Target for absolute necessities like this dress (cute, comfy, affordable, and navy/green!), a new frisbee for the boys (big hit!), snacks for next week’s soccer game, and an iced coffee!

Our third and final stop was the grocery store for our weekly haul. Spence was getting tired of shopping at that point, so we were in and out pretty quickly.

The rest of our afternoon involved exciting chores like laundry, putting away groceries, and prepping dinner {grilled burgers and hot dogs, salad, and baked potatoes}. Baths, books, and early to bed! All of that fresh air left us exhausted.

This morning started bright and early with a Star Wars puzzle for Gibbs while he ate his cereal,

and a baking session for me and Casey! We made a Derby Pie for dessert tonight, which you’ll see on the blog in the coming weeks. Think “ooey, gooey chocolate chip cookie meets pie.” Um, it’s a GOOD ONE!

While the pie baked, I changed sheets on the beds, did some laundry, showered, and got us all ready to head to the pool in Charlottesville for swimming lessons with Kristie’s boys. Did you see Kristie’s guest post here on Friday?!

And after swimming lessons we headed straight to the Hibachi Grill for lunch with Keith’s parents. The boys LOVE this place…

On the way home we stopped at a nursery to buy some spring plants for our garden. Last year our strawberries did really well, so we added a few more to our collection. I also brought home swiss chard, a variety of lettuces, and some sugar snap pea seeds.

Now the boys are out washing cars with their dad and I’m off to finish putting laundry away and get dinner started. On tonight’s menu: grilled shrimp tacos (similar to these tacos, but replacing the fish with shrimp since that’s what I had in the freezer)!

Have a great week!
