Hi, there! We’ve had a busy, busy past week, so I thought that I’d fill you in with a little recap. How about we cover the business first, and then we’ll get to the fun?

I finally got around to setting up a separate Facebook page for The Seasoned Mom. That way my FB fans can follow along with our recipe updates and other blog-related shenanigans, while the guys that I went to high school with (and other friends not interested in The Seasoned Mom!) don’t have their News Feeds spammed by my constant posting. 🙂

If you haven’t already, I would SO appreciate it if you could pop on over and “like” our new page! You can find it here: The Seasoned Mom on Facebook. Just a note: in order to make sure that you continue to see updates from The Seasoned Mom on your Facebook news feed, there are a few things that you can do:

First, hold your cursor over the “Liked” button at the top of the page and make sure “Show in News Feed” is checked in the drop down menu.

Second, you can click on “New List” in that same drop down menu to create a list of your favorite pages and make sure you never miss an update from any of them.

And if Facebook isn’t your platform of choice, you can also follow along with us on Pinterest, Twitter, Google+, or Instagram. Phew! I told you we were busy…

We spent the past week on vacation at Martha’s Vineyard. I wouldn’t exactly call traveling with 3 little boys “relaxing,” but everyone definitely had a good time and the weather cooperated beautifully!

After surviving the 11-hour trip from Virginia to New England, one of our first stops was Katama Bay to go clamming (thanks for the fake smile, Casey!).

While Gibbs was happy to spend most of the time eating lunch in his beach chair or collecting shells on the sand, this little guy was VERY interested in helping his dad rake through the mud to find as many clams as possible!

Proud of his efforts, Casey discovered a love for shellfish on this trip!

We enjoyed these clams as appetizers two nights in a row, and each evening Casey put back at least a dozen straight off the grill. I knew that he liked my Linguine with Clam Sauce, but I didn’t realize that he even liked them straight-up!

The boys thought that the lobster and the salmon from the fish market were pretty good, too…

The favorite activity for both of the older boys, though, was definitely playing in the surf at the beach. Splashing around in the waves and getting as salty and sandy as possible was THE BEST!

Keith and GrandDaddy took the boys to a Vineyard Sharks minor league baseball game one evening, where the highlights were the shark mascot and the moon bounce (of course).

We also visited a restored, historic whaling ship that was docked at the island from Mystic Seaport. The boys were convinced that this was a Pirate Ship, which automatically made it a cool outing!

Then, of course, there were trips to the various ice cream shops and candy store…

And even a date night out for Mom and Dad! I know my husband is married to a blogger when he snaps photos of his sushi dinner with his phone’s camera…

IMG_0308

All in all, a busy but very fun getaway for the family!

And, as always, a short time gone always makes it that much sweeter to come home!

Stay tuned, because we have a lot more exciting stuff planned for our summer (and for the blog in the coming weeks!).
