Notes
If you have little kids at home, you might want to omit the buffalo sauce from their wraps. It's nice and spicy! I just serve my boys their wraps with plain chicken and they are happy campers. You can drizzle the plain chicken with Ranch dressing, add shredded cheese, or top it with any other easy option that your little ones enjoy. It's totally customizable!
For a lighter option, make Buffalo Chicken Lettuce Wraps by using big leaves of butter lettuce or romaine lettuce to wrap up your meat instead of the flour tortillas.
Spread the buffalo chicken wraps with cream cheese before adding the warm meat to the tortillas.
Make these buffalo chicken wraps in the Crock Pot! You can use this recipe to prepare the shredded chicken, rather than using a store-bought rotisserie chicken.
You can also substitute canned chicken in lieu of the rotisserie chicken.
If your family prefers fried chicken, you can bake frozen chicken tenders and toss them in the buffalo sauce. Use the chicken tenders in your wraps just as you would use the shredded chicken.
How to reheat Buffalo Chicken Wraps: if you have leftovers, I suggest storing the chicken in a separate container. This will prevent the tortillas from getting soggy. When ready to reheat, simply place the chicken in a microwave-safe container, cover, and microwave on high for about 30-60 seconds, or just until warmed through. Assemble as instructed!
The buffalo chicken is freezer-friendly! Store shredded chicken in buffalo sauce in airtight containers in the freezer for up to 3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight, reheat meat as instructed above, and assemble wraps according to recipe directions.
Are chicken wraps healthy? Yes! They're full of lean protein and fresh vegetables, clocking in at about 240 calories per wrap. The nutrition facts provided assume a 140-calorie standard size flour tortilla; however, you can lighten them up even more by using lettuce wraps, low carb tortillas or whole grain tortillas.
Cooking just for two? Cut the ingredients in half and just prepare two wraps!
