With St. Patty’s Day behind us, we’re diving head first into Easter this week! First up: these Easter Egg Chicks. They are fast and easy to make, and they are the perfect little decoration for your Easter celebrations!

Easter Egg Chicks

Use these eggs just as you would use regular plastic Easter eggs – stuff them with candy and treats for your kids’ Easter baskets, hide them for an Easter egg hunt, or include them in your display of Easter decorations. Your family will love them!

So, here’s how you can make one too…

Supplies to make 1 Easter Egg Chick:

– 1 jumbo yellow plastic Easter egg

– 2 googly eyes

– 2 wings cut from a square of yellow felt

– 1 beak and 1 set of feet cut from a square of orange felt

– A hot glue gun

Start with a jumbo yellow plastic Easter egg:

And cut out your wings, feet, and beak from the felt.

I realize that I forgot to include the beak in this picture. I’m an airhead. But you can pretty much figure out what a beak should look like (a triangle!).

Then just use your glue gun to stick on your parts!

These do stand up on their own, so they can also serve as place cards on an Easter dining table (write names on them with an orange Sharpie? stick a little white name card under their feet?)…but they’re awfully cute just sitting in an Easter basket!
