Welcome cooler weather with an easy breakfast or snack that's perfectly spiced for the season! With a touch of nutmeg and a cinnamon-sugar coating, these Cinnamon Sugar Puff Muffins are the perfect cross between a doughnut and a muffin...and they disappear FAST!
Hey, friends! Early last week we were blessed with some cool, fall-like temps in Central Virginia. My mindset instantly switched from hot and humid summer days to chilly, crisp mornings. And that can only mean one thing: let the baking begin!
After dropping my older two boys off at school in the morning, I came home to a warm mug of Pumpkin Spice coffee (it's never too soon, right? RIGHT?)...
With two-year-old Spence still at home with me during the day, I knew that our little baking project needed to be simple, quick, and very kid-friendly. Can't beat a boxed mix for that!
My little guy loves to help stir (and chase the eggs around the bowl with his spoon),
and I love knowing that the Essential Goodness mixes are made with pure, simple ingredients like real lemon, sour cream, and vanilla bean. There are no funky ingredients like artificial colors or flavors, no hydrogenated oils, no preservatives, no corn syrup and all mixes are sourced non-GMO. So basically they're the best of all worlds: you get wholesome and delicious baked goods that taste like homemade...but they only take minutes to prepare!
Cinnamon Sugar Puff Muffins Are The Perfect Treat For Fall!
I should also note that while these mini muffins were in the oven, our house smelled amazing! Forget fall-scented candles, I'll just bake a batch of Cinnamon Sugar Puff Muffins any time I want a cozy house this season!
The smell was so good, in fact, that my little guy couldn't wait to take his first bite. As soon as they were cool enough to eat, Spence dug in. I wasn't done taking my photos yet, but that didn't matter. He stood by my side and grabbed muffin, after muffin, after muffin from my tray. Kind of like doughnut holes...it's seriously impossible to eat just one!
This little munchkin's cinnamon-sugar coated face and joyful smile say it all!
It was such a fun way to spend one-on-one time with my baby and enjoy a delicious snack together at the end. We can't wait to whip up some of the other Essential Goodness treats -- from Sour Cream Coffee Cake to Lemon Bars, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Cloud 9 Pancakes, and Vanilla Bean Cheesecake Bars -- the options are virtually endless, and we couldn't be happier about it!
The Essential Goodness mixes are perfect for the novice baker (like Spence!) looking for a simple, delicious treat and for a scratch baker who needs a just-in-time, convenient fix (like me!). Each mix is tasty on its own, but to switch things up King Arthur provides baker’s tips and twists to make a fun, creative version of the original. We're going to use our next box of the Cinnamon Sugar Puff Muffin Mix to create Snickerdoodle Cookies -- another family favorite!
Not only are these options a great twist on the standard breakfast or dessert, but you can also feel good about your purchase. For every mix sold, King Arthur Flour donates the cost of a meal to Feeding America, the nation's largest organization dedicated to fighting domestic hunger. There is no limit or end date to the campaign, and King Arthur commits to donating a minimum of one million meals in the first year of sales. It's a feel-good and taste-good choice that makes my family smile!
