With a house full of three hungry young boys, we definitely consume our fair share of chicken nuggets around here. In fact, if you ask Spencer what his favorite food is, he will often cite chicken nuggets as his top choice!

Choosing Quality Ingredients

Since Tyson chicken products are a staple in our kitchen, it makes me so happy to know that they are made with a long-standing dedication to quality for the way that we want to eat today.

That means that the specially marked Tyson chicken products (including a variety of fresh, refrigerated, and frozen options) are raised with no antibiotics ever, come from a strong heritage of raising chickens since 1935, and are made with 100% all natural* ingredients.

While a plate of chicken nuggets is one of our favorite go-to options, sometimes I feel like I need to pull together a “complete” meal that the whole family can enjoy together at the end of the day.

When I want to incorporate some veggies and filling carbs into the mix, an easy Chicken Nuggets and Tater Tots Casserole is the perfect solution! This is a meal that the parents and the kids can all agree on!

I purchase my Tyson chicken nuggets, as well as the delicious crispy chicken strips, in the freezer section at Walmart.

Either of these products work well in this casserole recipe!

By keeping a stash of these ingredients in your freezer or pantry, you can whip up this easy dinner whenever you need a last-minute meal. Just start by baking the chicken according to package instructions.

Top Tip

Add a few extra nuggets to your tray, because the smell of the chicken as it cooks will bring your children racing to the kitchen — and they won’t want to wait for you to finish the casserole before they can dig in! We consider these extra chicken nuggets the “appetizers” before our main course!

  1. Wow, I’m totally a fan of chicken nuggets. Seriously, I can eat them all the time – healthy, tasty and easy to prepare – I will try them by your recipe this time. Thanks!

    1. What if you don’t like cream of chicken soup can you use a roasted garlic parmesan sauce instead?

      1. Hi, Angela! I’m not familiar with the roasted garlic sauce in particular, but if it has a similar consistency to the condensed soup, then it should work well. If the sauce is thinner than the condensed soup, you might want to omit the milk so that you don’t thin it out too much. Hope you enjoy!

  2. HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT BIRTHDAY AND A WONDERFUL YEAR FILLED WITH LOTS OF LOVE AND HAPPINESS. AGAIN, I LOVE YOUR SITE.

  3. Happy Birthday, Blair! It’s my birthday week-end also. Go November gals! Enjoy your site and the pictures of your lovely boys. Hope they make your day special.

    1. Hey, Anna! It’s not a dumb question. 🙂 Step 1 in the recipe says to bake the chicken nuggets according to the package instructions. That helps them not only be warm when they go in the casserole, but it also gives them the crisp exterior that we all love. Enjoy!

Hi Blair, I made this on 11 Oct 2023, exactly as written although for my location, no tater tots but we can get mini hash browns so I went with those. Very tasty and easy to put together, this was well liked by the family. Thank you for a great recipe.
