How to Make Christmas Snack Mix | 2-Minute Video

Hi, friends! It’s definitely that time of year when the weather gets colder, the days get shorter, and we’re spending a lot more time indoors. I’ve told you about our Family Movie Night tradition before, and it’s still one of our favorite ways to wind down and spend time together at the end of the week. With three hungry boys (plus a husband) involved, you know that our movie nights always include some delicious food!

How to Make Christmas Snack Mix

Since it’s the holiday season right now, my boys have been watching The Polar Express CONSTANTLY. There’s just something about boys and trains – they can’t get enough! On a recent evening, the kids spread their blankets on the floor (as they always do to catch their crumbs during movie night!), and popped in their favorite DVD. In about 5 minutes I stirred together this delicious snack mix, and my family was in HEAVEN!

Here’s what you’ll need: white chocolate or yogurt-covered pretzels; popcorn; marshmallows, white chocolate chips, and red and green chocolate M&M’s.

Then it’s just a matter of combining everything into one big bowl. No baking required — just stir and serve!

Warning – this mix is addicting and I bet you can’t eat just one handful! The salty pretzels and popcorn combined with the sweet, creamy chocolate makes this crunchy Christmas party food undeniably good!

The popcorn adds satisfying volume, while the marshmallows look like little white snowballs! With the addition of some festive red and green M&M’s, it’s a Christmas appetizer or party snack that’s appropriate for just about any holiday gathering. Plus, it’s nut-free — making this snack idea a great option to take to that class Christmas party at school!

Cook’s Tips and Recipe Variations

  • Use any popcorn that you prefer — butter-flavored, simply salted, or even kettle corn! You can purchase a bag of popcorn for the fastest option (we love this brand), or pop it yourself at home. Just make sure that your popcorn is cooled to room temperature before you mix it with the rest of your ingredients.
  • I used plain milk chocolate M&M’s here, but you can use any variety that you love. Peanut M&M’s are great (if you don’t have allergies), and so are the holiday-themed flavors like white chocolate peppermint M&M’s!
  • You can easily scale this recipe to feed a crowd. Need a big batch? Just double or triple the ingredients!
