We love books in this house, so we try to make a weekly or bi-weekly trip to the local library to refresh our supply. I often feel overwhelmed in the library with so many options. And when I’m busy chasing after two toddlers, it’s hard to study all of my choices. Instead, I like to go in there with a specific book in mind, which makes the check-out process faster and easier.
Here are a few of my suggestions for books that your family might enjoy too:
Since this week is all about music, we’ve had fun reading this version of Jingle Bells by Jeffery Ebbeler, which plays the song every time you open the book. (Stay tuned tomorrow for an activity that uses this book as well).
Another favorite in our house is Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumb by Al Perkins. We picked it up on a whim at a used book store when we were in California a few years ago. It’s been a constant go-to in our house ever since. It has also been fun to pull out this week and use with our drums. The boys can beat their drums along with the book.
Happy reading!
