Whew…we have had an amazing, blessed, and very busy past couple of days! I’m going to attempt to share highlights, but I will warn you – this is going to be long!

C tree

Although it feels like we have been celebrating Christmas for weeks, our “official” holiday started in Alexandria, where we traveled to see Keith’s family on Monday.

We spent time with loved ones,

I think that everyone was thrilled with their gifts —

even the big boys!

And despite all of the excitement on Monday, we woke up bright and early at home on Christmas morning, ready to see what Santa had delivered.

The boys were so excited and overwhelmed that they didn’t know where to look first, and they were definitely speechless. A Santa success!

By about 6:45 am, Daddy had already laid out new train tracks and was busy building a Hot Wheels ramp. In desperate need of coffee!

Casey loved the new table and chairs – perfect for his art work!

And once the sun rose, my parents arrived for brunch.

Our Christmas table included homemade gifts from our incredibly generous neighbors, such as doughnuts, cheese danish, and Madison’s local Kite’s country ham and biscuits.

As soon as we were properly fueled and caffeinated, it was time for a few more gifts…

Poor Molly was just confused.

And as the fog lifted, we skipped and hopped over the mess strewn across the floor, pretended it wasn’t there, and bolted outside to test our new toys.

He especially liked the flames on his helmet!

Worn out!

Then it was back inside to get started on dinner, which we ate quietly as a family of four. The perfect ending to a very busy day!

K turkey

Keith was in charge of the turkey, which came from a neighboring farm…so fresh, and so delicious!

We are so fortunate, and we are certainly thanking God this evening for the joy and love that He has brought to our friends and family this season. Merry Christmas!
