‘Tis the season for parties, right?! It’s not just reserved for sporting events! This Crock Pot snack mix would also be a great appetizer to serve at a holiday party. It pairs perfectly with a cold beverage, no matter what the occasion!
One of the keys to the bold, smokey flavor is a can of Blue Diamond Smokehouse Almonds. They’re crunchy, salty, and oh-so-smokey!
I love the this recipe only takes about 5 minutes to dump into your slow cooker. Other than melting the butter, there’s no cooking involved! Plus, the shortcut step of using a spice packet saves you additional time and money because there’s no need to shop for fancy seasonings or measure out a special blend. You’re going to love the mesquite flavor, too. It’s the perfect amount of KICK without being too much.
All of my boys — from Keith all of the way down to two-year-old Spence love this mix. They can’t keep their hands out of the bowl! I keep a big batch in my cabinet in an airtight container and it’s an easy snack and a great way to curb the munchies in a healthier way. No potato chips in this mix!

I don’t know why I’ve never thought to make snack mix in the crock pot. I just always think about soups and casserole-type foods. So brilliant!
Thanks, Holly! It works perfectly, and it doesn’t burn as quickly! Hah!
Mmm I can never resist snack mixes like this! I usually devour it by the handful. I love that you made this in the slow cooker, Blair! I’m sure it gives this such a great flavor!
Thanks, Gayle! It’s definitely addicting…you’ve been warned. 🙂
I need to be making snack mix in my slow cooker!! Why have I not done this before?! Love the sound of this mesquite version, Blair. I could munch away on it.

Excellent! I hope you love it, Mary Frances!
Where do I find the dry seasoning packet used in this receipe, what brand do you use? Cannot wait to make for upcoming get together. Thank you.
Hi, Sharon!
The dry seasoning packet that I used is made by McCormick. You can find it on the spice and seasoning aisle where there are rows of other seasoning packets like taco seasoning, chili seasoning, and gravy packets. Enjoy!!
You can make Chex snack mixes in the microwave. Do 3 rounds of 2 minutes each, stirring after each round. So quick and tastes just as good!
Great tip, Selene! Thank you! 🙂
